About MLG

Major League Grilling’s founder, Arthur Aguirre, is a BBQ enthusiast with a passion to cook anything on the grill.  Before reaching the level of pitmaster, Arthur spent years of hopelessly under cooking and overcooking various cuts of succulent meats. With the help of internet forums such as the BBQ Brethren, Char-Broil, and the experts from the GrillinFools, Arthur’s grilling exploits soon followed.

Arthur’s smoked pork tamale recipe became a sensation that landed him as a regular guest contributor with the GrillinFools. Char-Broil then invited Arthur to become a guest BBQ All-Star for its blog, Sizzle on the Grill. Recently, he has participated in events which involves barbequing for the masses and competes in professional BBQ competition sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society with excellent results. Through all this experience in such a short amount of time, he has the credentials of being an expert, but no doubt a pitmaster of the backyard grill.

Arthur also grills for his vegetarian wife and 2 picky boys where his cooking skills rival that of a short order cook. Nonetheless, the family loves his grilling and so does his extended family, relatives, friends and neighbors who come calling when they smell the smoke. For this native Californian, BBQ and the love of his family, faith and community brings them all closer together.

Mission Statement                                                                                                                 To inspire beginner, intermediate and advanced backyard grilling enthusiasts. Provide tips, tricks and nuggets about barbeque and grilling. Major League Grilling is a true red, white and blue American style barbeque information portal. We emphatically support spreading the word about our God given right to Q.

  1. Hello Art! I really liked and appreciated your review of the Saber grill. A question for you: do have any experience or suggestions as to how I’d do some cedar plank grilling on the Saber? Thanks in advance for any info.
